New Jersey Shore - Copper Canyon

Think of the best Southwestern American food available in, say, Dallas or Fort Worth, dust all the dishes with creativity, sprinkle the drinks with tequila, provide fresh homemade treats like guacamole and seasoned red and yellow corn tortilla chips and create an atmosphere of delightful relaxation and down right fun. Why is it so hard to describe The Copper Canyon? Frankly, I don’t know where to begin. Michael Krikorian, the pleasant and accommodating master chef, owner and creator of this garden of epicurean delights has left no stone (or pot lid) unturned. His hostess, Judy, has been with the restaurant since its days in a smaller, more intimate venue just across the street.

Do you like crab cakes? The menu’s "Colossal" claims are no exaggeration. How about Ginger Shrimp sautéed and placed over grilled pineapple? But, wait, just what was in that sauce? Garlic? Cilantro? Chilis? Whatever it was, I want a bottle of it to take home! Do I dare tell you bout the fresh halibut, fried oysters, beef short ribs or seasoned New York Strip Steak with ‘Canyon Fries’? Don’t miss the Southwestern Spring Rolls.

No meal at the Copper Canyon is complete without imbibing one of their famous Margaritas. You can choose one from the bar's extensive menu or sample a distinctive tequila. With over 150 available, the Copper Canyon has one of the largest selections available in New Jersey. The house merlot and cabernet are also excellent.

The Copper Canyon is open for lunch from 12:00 - 3:00, Monday through Friday, and serves dinner, Monday through Thursday until 10:00, Friday and Saturday until 11:00 p.m. In June, they convert to summer hours, and are open seven days a week.
